Construction Career Day gives ninth–12th grade students exposure to the different career opportunities within the construction industry. Students will experience hands-on activities, and the opportunity to network with construction professionals and UW-Platteville faculty, students, and alumni. Students will also be given the opportunity to experience what a real construction site is like.

Participation in this event will be first come, first served, and is limited to registered professionals and teachers.

Session Descriptions
Rigging presented by UW-Platteville Construction Management Program Professors In this session, you'll work with professors in our Construction Management program to rig up materials and see a crane move them around the construction site. Campus Tour presented by UW-Platteville Office of Recruitment Learn more about UW-Platteville by going on a campus tour. You'll explore campus with a current student and see our more of our labs, buildings, and residence halls. Safety Lab Tour & Fall Protection presented by UW-Platteville Construction Safety Management Program Professors Come tour our safety lab and try out all the safety equipment our industry professional use. Even get an opportunity to try on our fall protection and what it feels like to fall. Survey presented by UW-Platteville Survey Do you want to find out what surveyors do? Come join one of survey instructors to learn what surveyors do and work with surveying equipment. Excavator Demonstration presented by UW-Platteville Construction Management Program Professors Would you like to run an excavator? If so, this is the session for you to try your skills at operating an excavator. Keep checking back, as additional sessions will continue to be added.
