Every year, the theatre program at UW-Platteville presents an ambitious season of six productions, ranging from the classics to contemporary plays. All productions involve students from every program and college on campus. Participation is not limited to those with a theatre major or minor. Open auditions are conducted for each play—auditions for the fall season are held in September, auditions for the spring season are held in December and auditions for the One Act Festival are held in April. The mission of the theatre program is to present material that not only entertains, but also instructs and challenges. The theatre program also believes very much in giving back to the Platteville and UW-Platteville communities. All the proceeds from our Benefit Wednesday performances go to local charities, and our stage reading series benefits student organizations on this campus.
