Campus Counseling Services at UW-Platteville Richland are made possible through student fees. The CCS can provide an array of help and services when you are feeling stressed, depressed, or have other issues for which professional counseling services may be appropriate.
Erin Spadafore, MS, LMFT is a Mental Health Therapist with Richland County Health & Human Services and is the designated counselor serving UW-Richland students.
Students may sometimes encounter problems or life situations that cause emotional distress and difficulty coping. Some examples include school adjustment problems, sexual assault, dating violence, substance abuse issues, family/relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, adjustment to stressful life situations, past abuse issues, or coping with a major mental illness.
A professional counselor is on campus for seven hours each week, in Melvill Hall Room 443. Hours are Mondays 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays noon-3 p.m. For an appointment, call 608.649.5790 or email email@example.com.
The professional staff at the Clinical Services Outpatient Clinic will be available during their normal office hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) each weekday. The CSOC is located in the Richland County Community Services building downtown at the corner of Seminary and Main. Crisis intervention services are available by calling 844.610.6706.
Assessment, referral and short-term counseling are available free to all UW-Richland students. In addition, informational materials are available upon request.
Campus Counseling Services may include up to six sessions with a counselor at no cost to the student. Additional services may be available for ongoing needs, and an appropriate referral will be made.
The Solution Center provides comprehensive assistance to prospective and current students in the areas of admission, financial aid, advising, orientation, placement testing, disability services, tutoring services and student activities.
Advisors are available to help students learn about degree options, majors, academic requirements, and the process of transferring. Help is also available in assessing career goals, planning a return to school, adjusting to academic life, or other areas of concern relevant to beginning or returning to college.
