Dr. Susan Hansen, Interim Associate Vice Chancellor
Dr. Susan Hansen joined UW-Platteville in 1991. As a professor in Business Administration, she taught International Business and Management courses on campus and at a distance. Most recently, she served as Director of the School of Business. Prior to coming to UW-Platteville, she held the position of controller for a number of businesses in Kansas City. She also held management positions in the manufacturing sector for several years in central Kansas and west Texas.
Dr. Hansen oversees the Karrmann Library, university accreditation, new program initiatives, and serves as the liaison to UW System for academic programs. In addition, she is on the project team for the campus’ collaborative integration project and serves as the Provost’s representative on APC, UUCC, and UBC.
Dr. Chanaka Mendis, Acting Assistant Provost
Dr. Chanaka Mendis serves as Assistant Provost and is entering his 15th year at UW-Platteville. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Mendis served as the Assistant Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs for two years in the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science. Prior to joining the Department of Chemistry faculty in the fall of 2004, he earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C in 1999.
Dr. Mendis oversees the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP), Teaching and Technology Center (TTC), Textbook Center, high impact practices, student appeals, and faculty/staff professional development. Additionally, he is working on projects directed at digitizing faculty/staff annual evaluation, institutionalizing new faculty learning communities, providing institutional support, programming, and planning for system initiatives and creating a robust academic plan.
