Biography

Linda Boss has been a childcare instructor with UW-Platteville’s Continuing Education Institute since 2003. She also taught as an adjunct faculty member for Gateway Technical College in Racine, Wisconsin. While at Gateway Technical College she spent her time teaching and supporting students in the Early Childhood Associates Degree and apprenticeship programs.

In addition to teaching, Boss was a Director and Assistant Director of the Plymouth Children’s Center in Burlington, Wisconsin. There, she managed a nationally accredited childcare center while developing and training staff and board members. Her background also includes grant writing and consulting for the Department of Public Instruction in Madison, Wisconsin, on early childhood programs and in the public school districts. Additionally, she was one of the original authors of the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, and is an approved WMELS Trainer.

Her interests are in primary child development, professional development, and early childhood advocacy. She enjoys presenting workshops at local, state, and national conferences on distance learning when she is not at home in Pennsylvania gardening or spending time with her grandchildren.
