A Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) describes how an agency or institution of higher education will continue to provide essential services or perform mission essential functions during a disaster or other event that disrupts normal operations. Continuity of Operation planning is critical to the ability of UW-Platteville to continue to deliver valuable and essential services to the campus community during and immediately after a disaster.
UW-Platteville's Mission is to provide associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degree programs in a broad spectrum of disciplines including: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics; criminal justice; education; business; agriculture; and the liberal arts. We promote excellence by using a personal, hands-on approach to empower each student to become broader in perspective, intellectually more astute, ethically more responsible, and to contribute wisely as an accomplished professional and knowledgeable citizen in a diverse global community.
To accomplish this mission, UW-Platteville must ensure its operations are performed with minimal disruption during all-hazards emergencies or other situations that disrupt normal operations. The Emergency Management Team is committed to the safety and protection of its personnel, contractors, operations, and facilities. This Continuity Plan is a recovery plan that works as a companion plan with the Emergency Operations Plan, Training Plan, and Strategic Plan and provides a framework to minimize potential impact and allow for rapid recovery from an incident that disrupts operations.
