Community is broadly interpreted in the context of who the Community Partner can be for a PACCE-funded project. The community partner can be, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Local
  • Regional
  • State
  • National
  • International
  • On-line
  • Existing business
  • New ventures
  • For profits
  • Non-profits
  • Not for profits
  • Social organizations
  • Civic
  • Community governance
  • Education/Schools
  • Large, small, individual
  • Campus

The organizational status of a community member is not as important as whether or not the student is being exposed to a challenge that extends her/his academic training outside the formal classroom and outside the textbook assignment to a real community challenge. Very important as well is whether or not the community partner will be an integrated part of the student learning experience.
