Education Abroad for Political Science

Why study political science abroad?

Studying political science in another country and culture exposes students to new government systems, historical contexts, and political institutions. As the political field is becoming increasingly global in our progressively interdependent world, professionals are challenged daily to broaden their understanding of cultural and societal norms in international politics. Incorporating an international experience in a UW-Platteville political science degree inspires students to examine the world in a new way and consider innovative ideas in the classroom and for their future careers.

Upon graduation, having international experience on a resume can also help distinguish applicants in the competitive job market.  It can help demonstrate a global perspective of the field and real-world issues, flexibility and adaptability, and knowledge of and openness to other cultures.
