WUAS On-Site Staff
The International office at the Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (WUAS) manages on-site matters for UW-Platteville Exchange program at WUAS as well as other services for prospective and current international students, including:
- activities related to sending students abroad and accepting international students.
- activities related to conducting Dutch language and culture education for international students.
- guidance on matters concerning international student studying and living.
The International staff are the primary contacts for students upon acceptance and once they reach the Netherlands. They can answer questions about visas, housing, study programs, and education matters, and they work with students to ensure that all international students have the best experience possible.
The International office also created and supports the Students United in the Netherlands (SUN) group. Dutch SUN members are assigned to mentor each international student. They help students mingle with Dutch students and answer questions about studies and student life. Many international students join SUN while they are abroad; it’s a great way for American students to interact with students from all over the world.
In addition to mentoring students, the SUN members also plan an Introduction Week, an excursion somewhere in the Netherlands, and a Good-bye Party, along with other activities throughout the semester. Most of these are free to international students. SUN also keeps international students informed about various events happening on campus or in the city.
As exchange students’ primary on-site contacts, students studying abroad at the WUAS through UW-Platteville Education Abroad are encouraged to contact the WUAS International staff with any matters once in-country. Until then, students are encouraged to direct any inquires to the UW-Platteville Education Abroad staff.
