From the Desk of the Resident Director
Greetings from Hugunin Hall!
We are already almost at the halfway point of the semester, time is really flying! Friday, March 16 will be the end of the first 8 weeks. Then it's Spring Break!! Hugunin Hall will close for the week of Spring Break at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 23, however, if you'd like to stay all you have to do is sign up. Will reopen at noon on Monday, April 2. This is a good time to take home things you find yourself not using, with the erratic weather it may be wise to keep some warm clothes.
With the first 8 weeks wrapping up, that means midterms are coming up for most of you. So remember to get plenty of sleep and know that there are many resources for tutoring or assistance to help you succeed during these busy times. Just check out Academic Support Programs - https://www.uwplatt.edu/academic-support .
Self Care | With strong sickness going around, practicing good hygiene habits is the first step to preventing the spread of illness. Be sure to wash your hands regularly to avoid the spread of germs. If you are not feeling well, be sure to take good care of yourself by getting plenty of rest, washing your hands, and seeking professional help if your illness continues.
Safety Tip of the Month: As we approach spring, inclement weather will become more common. Be sure to remain aware of potential for severe weather. In the case of severe weather, be sure to seek out appropriate shelter if your hall. Avoid windows and do not go outside to storm watch.
There is so much going on in Hugunin Hall it would be pretty difficult not to get involved. For students, if you’re having trouble getting involved please, check your wings webpage to get info about upcoming events and feel free to talk with your RA, they are very knowledgeable about the Hall as well as other involvement opportunities on campus.
As always, feel free to contact me if you need anything.
