Need software? Have we got some deals for you!
As part of a various software agreements, UW-Platteville is able to offer Pioneers select software free or with reduced pricing. For instance, faculty and students using Solidworks can get a free student version for academic purposes. Faculty, staff and students are also offered deep discounts from Adobe and Minitab software as well.
How do I get this software?
To receive your free copy of Solidworks Student Edition, go to /go/solidworks and login to complete the online form. When the form is submitted, you will receive an email with the download instructions.
Faculty, staff and students may purchase a subscription for Adobe products at a fraction of the usual cost through our software portal known as, “On the Hub.” For more information, visit /go/thehub
At “On the Hub”, you will also find reduced pricing on Minitab. The Minitab software is available for a simple processing fee of $5.50 and is downloaded directly from the Hub. The Hub features other software brands at a discounted price as well, but these other offerings are from vendor Kivuto and not the University.
In addition to the sources above, discounted software is still available through WISC Software Catalog. Individual links for employees and students are posted to the ITS Purchasing Tech webpage at /help-desk/purchasing-technology
NOTE: Please make sure to price check items that were not specifically mentioned above, as both WISC and The Hub offer similar products with different pricing structures.
Don’t forget your free Office licenses!
Current UW-Platteville faculty, staff, and students have access to five free copies of Microsoft Office through their Office 365 accounts. These licenses are valid as long as you maintain a “current” status. Find all the details in the ITS Knowledge Base.
