Celebrating 150 Years

October 1, 2016

UW-Platteville’s Homecoming is even more significant this year as the university celebrates its sesquicentennial anniversary. For 150 years UW-Platteville has provided an affordable, accessible, high-quality education to students from the tri-state area, across the United States, and other parts of the country and the world. As we look back on our accomplishments during our sesquicentennial celebration, we look forward with excitement as we continue to pioneer the future.

In the last year alone, our faculty, staff, and students have been contributing to cancer research, conducting a ground-breaking sports-related concussion study, and designing a bulletproof panel for backpacks. They participated in a record number of short-term education abroad programs which included studying agriculture in India, renewable energy practices in Brazil, and diversity and immigration in schools in the United Kingdom. They made a difference through engagements projects in our community.
