University Counseling Services Student Advisory Group

University Counseling Services (UCS) has developed a student advisory group on the topic of mental health awareness on campus. The main purpose of this advisory group is to provide a venue for students to offer feedback and suggestions regarding UCS marketing and services.  The advisory group is focused on reducing mental health stigma, and increasing student involvement with mental health on campus.  Mental health stigma is a negative perception or judgment people have toward mental illness and/or receiving treatment for mental illness. UCS is aware that mental health stigma affects students on our campus, and is designing programs and events to educate and reduce the stigma associated with seeking help.
