University of Wisconsin-Platteville encourages students, faculty, staff and guests to leave their cars at home and walk, bike, or take the bus around campus. According to the AAA, the average cost of car ownership in 2017, was $8,469 (full report). Not only can leaving your car at home help save money, but it may also help provide exercise, improve your mood, strengthen your bones, and even improve concentration and grades.
Here are just some of the ways that you can travel without your car in Platteville:
1. Take the Public Bus - free for students!
2. Bring your bike.
3. Take a regional bus home at academic breaks.
4. Use Zimride or Rideboard (in the Markee Pioneer Student Center, by the Info Desk)
5. Use our City trail network.
