The University of Wisconsin-Platteville transcript is a complete academic record of a student's enrollment at the university. Maintained by the Office of the Registrar, the transcript is a complete history of undergraduate or graduate level courses attempted and grades earned. Courses include those taken at UW-Platteville, transfer coursework evaluated by the university, and advance standing credits. Your semester grade point average and academic standing is shown after each term. The transcript also includes any earned degrees including the majors and minors completed.

Undergraduate and graduate records are maintained on separate transcripts.

Unofficial Transcripts

Your student record, also called an unofficial transcript or university copy, contains information about your enrollment at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.  This is different from your official transcirp because it can include notations for academic and administrative departments which are not included on the official transcript.  Current students can access this record in Pioneer Administrative Software System (PASS). Former students should request an official transcript. 

Students have a right to view their student records at the Office of the Registrar.  A student who is unable to visit the campus due to distance may submit a request in writing with their handwritten signature.  Upon receipt of the written request, the Office of the Registrar will arrange to provide access within 45 days as required under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). 

Ordering Official Transcripts

As of Feb. 1, 2014 UW-Platteville retained Credentials Solutions LLC to accept transcript requests over the Internet. Both your Date of Birth and Student ID number or Social Security number are required within the request in order to locate your transcript information. Note: Undergraduate and graduate transcripts are separate records and must be requested on separate orders.


Current Students may log into PASS and select the "Request an Official Transcript" option from your Self-Service Menu Page. This will authenticate your order and transfer you to the Transcripts Plus website by Credentials Solutions LLC.

Transcripts Plus - A service provided by Credentials Solutions


Regular processing time is one to three business days from the date your completed request is received by the Office of the Registrar. The official transcript will not be released if there are any outstanding financial obligations with UW-Platteville. Students will have up to 30 calendar days to clear the hold or the transcript request will be purged requiring the student to create a new request once the hold is cleared.


The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires that students provide valid authorization to release your transcripts. UW-Platteville is a participant in the Credentials Inc. (TranscriptsPlus®) network that can automatically authorize transcript orders. Automatic authorization is based upon comparing specific information in your request with information on file in your UW-Platteville records. If your order is not eligible for automatic authorization, a printable form will be available at the end of the order process. You will have to print, sign, and mail or fax the form to Credentials.

What is the difference between an official and an unofficial transcript?

An official transcript is printed on security paper or encrypted as a secure PDF so that third party recipients can trust that it is authentic.  Through Credentials Solutions LLC, an official transcript is the fastest and most secure method to obtain your academic record. 

Can I track the delivery of my transcript?

Only orders shipped by Fed Ex will provide you with a tracking number from Credentials. Please note that Fed Ex cannot deliver to a P.O. Box. A street address of the recipient is required.

Can my transcript be delivered electronically?

Electronic delivery of a pdf transcript is available as one of the options when ordering through the Credentials Transcripts Plus system.  Please note if you attended prior to 2001 electronic delivery of a pdf transcript is not available.

Can an official transcript be mailed directly to the student?

Yes, however, your transcript will indicate "Issued to the Student." Some third party recipients will accept these transcripts from the student if the envelope is unopened.

Can I pick up a copy of my transcript on campus?

Yes, but you must place your order online first. During the ordering process, you will be able to specify that you want to pick up the transcript in the Office of the Registrar. Your transcript order will be available for one month. If it is not picked up within one month it will be mailed to the home address on file.

If I am picking up my transcript from the Office of the Registrar, what will I need?

You will need a government issued photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport)

Can I have someone else pick up my transcript for me?

Yes, but this information must be provided at the time your transcripts are ordered. The individual picking up your transcript must have photo identification.

If I select "hold for grades" or "hold for degree," how long will it take for the transcript request to be processed?

Normally, transcript requests with the selection "hold for grades" are processed within two weeks after the last day of final exams. If you select "hold for degree," it will be processed as soon as all outstanding requirements are fulfilled including outstanding grades, transcripts from other schools (if applicable), and department approvals.
