UWP promotes online program
PLATTEVILLE- Representatives of UW-Platteville attended the Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional Development Days (PDD) in Minneapolis, Nov. 15. UWP worked to recruit students and promote its opportunities for certification and a master of science degree in project management. Students, professionals and others affiliated with project management gathered at the event for a chance to enhance their skills in project management.
Darla Banfi, marketing coordinator of distance education and Heidi Tuescher-Gille, student services coordinator, represented UWP at the event.
"The Minneapolis PDD was a very successful recruiting day. Our fact sheets were flying off the table," Banfi said.
UWP will continue to look for opportunities to attend chapter PDD's nationwide, as events like this one are tools used to bring together project managers. Individual Project Management Institute chapters sponsor Professional Development Days (PDDs).
Advantages and features of UWP's online program are that the program requires no campus visits, UWP does not require assessment testing to start the program, it is a non-thesis degree and the program is well-suited for those working or with families, who may not live close to campus.
