UW-Platteville to host Board of Regents
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host the UW System Board of Regents meeting on Thursday, April 6 and Friday, April 7. The Board of Regents holds regular meetings eight times per year; half of those meetings are hosted by various UW institutions on a rotating schedule. The last time UW-Platteville hosted a Board of Regents meeting was in 2011.
While on campus, the regents will conduct their regularly scheduled business; however there will be opportunities for them to visit with UW-Platteville students, faculty and staff and learn about new initiatives and ongoing projects at UW-Platteville. The theme of the visit is “Accountability and Research: Achieving Excellence, Creating Opportunities, and Empowering Individuals.”
“It is an honor to host our regents; our campus has experienced tremendous growth and many exciting changes since we last hosted the regents in 2011,” said UW-Platteville Chancellor Dennis J. Shields. “I am excited to have this opportunity to share with the regents the many successes of our students, faculty and staff. I encourage our campus community to engage in this visit and demonstrate what makes UW-Platteville special.”
