Sign up for UW-Platteville’s Alumni Mentorship Program

Alumni mentorship

We all know earning a degree is important for enhancing one’s career, but it’s not the only step students can take to better position themselves for success. Knowledge of the workplace and the ability to make strong connections can prove just as valuable, which is why the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is pleased to offer the Alumni Mentee-Mentor Program—a resource for those seeking additional support outside of their studies.

Established in 2019, the program is available for all students currently enrolled in a distance education program (both graduate and undergraduate). Using a one-on-one pairing model, the program connects mentees with appropriate mentors in a support system that is beneficial to both parties.

Signing up as a mentee provides many benefits. With each session, students can deepen their knowledge of a specific employer, industry, or job function with the help of a real-world professional. Mentees can also learn to sharpen their soft skills as they construct a personalized plan for success, incorporating the valued insight of their alumni mentor with every step.

On the other side, sharing knowledge gained from past experiences is just one of many benefits mentors receive. By serving as a mentor, alumni can cultivate a stronger connection to the UW-Platteville community, network with other alumni participants, and gain valuable coaching experience. The program provides mentors a unique and powerful way to give back to their alma mater.

Ready to take your personal and professional journey to the next level? Interested participants are encouraged to fill out a mentee application or mentor application. For more information, please review the student-alumni mentor program handbook or send questions to dpsalumni@uwplatt.edu.
