Latino comic to bring reality-based humor to UWP for Hispanic Heritage Month

PLATTEVILLE - A Bronx, N.Y, native and Latino comic, Eric Nieves, will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Pioneer Crossing of the new Pioneer Student Center.

As a comedian, writer and performer, Nieves has appeared in TV's NYPD Blue and is known for his reality-based humor and engaging smile. The event is free and open to the public.

Nieves made his comedy debut in 1994. Since then, he has become one of the most sought after Latino comics in New York. He honed his skills as a comedian, writer and performer with the sketch comedy group "Nuyorican Rule."

Nieves' credits include appearances on "Showtime at the Apollo" and BET's "Comic View."

His reality-based humor and upbeat delivery have earned him fans across the country. With his smooth delivery and engaging smile, audiences say Nieves is poised to become one of tomorrow's brightest stars in the world of comedy.
