PLATTEVILLE - A hilarious Neil Simon comedy will delight University of Wisconsin-Platteville audiences for the production of "The Good Doctor"

Nov. 21-24. All performances are at 8 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Theatre.

Based on a collection of short stories and humorous letters by Anton Chekhov, "The Good Doctor" mixes slapstick comedy with tender drama, said play director Mike O'Brien.

"Rehearsals are going well," said O'Brien. "The cast is very excited; we are laughing incessantly." In one scene titled "The Governor," the governor is trying to teach Nanny a lesson by cheating her out of her pay, said O'Brien.

Student assistant director is theatre major Allyn Weber.

Ticket prices are general admission, $6; UWP students (with I.D.), $3; faculty, staff and senior citizens, $5; and under 18, $3. Tickets are available at the CFA Box Office, 608-342-1298.
