Hansen named interim associate vice chancellor
Dr. Susan Hansen is being promoted to interim associate vice chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, announced Dr. Joanne Wilson, interim provost and vice chancellor for Academic Affairs. The move becomes effective July 1.
Hansen was the first director for the School of Business, which was designated as a school in December 2013. It combined the accounting, business administration and graduate programs.
In her new role as interim associate vice chancellor, Hansen will lead university accreditation efforts with the Higher Learning Commission, continue being on the Collaborative Integration with UW-Richland and UW-Baraboo/Sauk County project team and be the provost liaison with UW System. She will also work with the Academic Planning Initiative that may introduce new programs to the academic array.
Since arriving at UW-Platteville, Hansen has served a variety of roles, including classroom and online instructor, interim dean of the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture.
“Susan has served on many faculty governance committees over the past years, and her leadership in the School of Business and through the Collaborative Integration process has been exemplary,” Wilson said. “Both (Assistant Provost) Chanaka Mendis and I are pleased that she will be joining the provost team.”
