PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The Potosi Brewery hosted its fourth annual Bike Tour, 5K and 10K Walk/Run to benefit the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Community Scholarship Program, Potosi Foundation and Southwest Tech Scholarship Program. The Potosi Foundation’s mission is to “channel all profits into its markets served to support historical and educational initiatives, and charitable causes.”

The Potosi Foundation raised approximately $14,000 during the Walk/Run and donated 25 percent of its proceeds to the UW-Platteville Community Scholarship Program and Southwest Tech Scholarship Program to split. Both organizations received a check for $1,713 to put toward their scholarship funds.

“After the success of this event and partnership with UW-Platteville and Southwest Tech, the Potosi Foundation is committed to keeping this partnership with UW-Platteville and Southwest Tech in the future,” said Katie Friar, event coordinator for UW-Platteville Alumni Services. Their goal for next year is to increase donations in order to grow these scholarship funds.
