Enjoy your favorite holiday carols at the Holiday Gala
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will hold its 18th annual Holiday Gala on Dec. 13 and 14 in the Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall, Center for the Arts, at 7:30 p.m.
Musical groups featured at the concert will include the UW-Platteville Symphony Orchestra, Dubuque Community String Orchestra, Platteville Children’s Choirs, Platteville Chorale, University Combined Choirs and Chamber Players Ensembles.
Special highlights of the gala will include an audience sing-a-long of a variety of favorite carols, such as “Sleigh Ride,” musical selections from “The Nutcracker,” and a special visit from Santa.
“This year’s Holiday Gala promises to be a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration,” said Dr. Thomas Dickey, director of orchestral activities at UW-Platteville. “It’s an opportunity for musicians and community members to come together to celebrate this special time of year. The beautiful music performed by the talented musicians in the gala’s featured groups will put everyone in the holiday spirit and prepare them for a joyous holiday season.”
Tickets may be purchased at the University Box Office by calling (608) 342-1298 or online at tickets.uwplatt.edu. General admission is $10 and $5 for UW-Platteville students. Those interested in attending the gala are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as last year’s gala sold out.
All proceeds will go to the UW-Platteville music scholarship fund. Last year, the Holiday Gala raised $5,000 for music scholarships.
The amount of the concert tickets may be used as a tax-deductible, charitable contribution.
A reception with holiday beverages and treats will follow the performance.
