Early childhood education professionals from across Wisconsin and the region will gather at the 2019 Early Childhood Seminar on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Markee Pioneer Student Center.

The Continuing Education Institute, which hosts the event, provides child care education through nine Registry Child Care Credentials, seminars, early childhood training courses, and degree completion programs with partner institutions. Their reach extends throughout the state of Wisconsin and from New York to California.

This year’s keynote speaker is Andy Johnsrud, founder of Warriors of the Open Heart. He will present the message, “Exactly Who They’re Meant to Be.” Johnsrud will share his uplifting message to encourage the audience in their work with children. “It’s not your job to teach children to be who you think they should be — you can’t, and they don’t need you to!” You will leave this seminar with a better understanding of what children really need from us and empathetic skills you can use to help them find their way to the person they will become.

Attendees can also look forward to:

  • Earn 0.6 CEUs or six hours of continuing education training in Early Childhood Education
  • Materials, continental breakfast, lunch, beverages are included in the registration cost.

Registration is required to attend the seminar. For more information on the Early Childhood Seminar contact Chenoa Ruecking at rueckingc@uwplatt.edu or call 608.342.1314.
