G. Daniel Fairchild has been a Professor of music at the University of Wisconsin Platteville for over forty years.  During this tenure, Mr. Fairchild has taught a multitude of courses and conducted virtually every ensemble on campus. As the long-time horn studio teacher, he has developed and mentored hundreds of young horn players and still provides enthusiastic and insightful study of the instrument to this day.  He is an active clinician and conductor, working with thousands of middle level, high school and college musicians each year.

In addition to decades of work with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, he has served as Director of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, The Wisconsin College Brass and Percussion Teachers Ensemble, and Rountree Ensemble.

As a performer, Mr. Fairchild is active in scores of professional performances each year. He has recorded chamber music on the Music Minus One, Composers Recording Inc. and Heliotrope labels.  He has earned Bachelor of Science Music Education and Master of Science Music Education degrees from the University of Illinois.
