Corey Mackey is currently finishing his doctoral degree at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, and has earned degrees from Northern Arizona University and the University of Minnesota. He is currently the principal clarinetist for the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and is the clarinet professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Corey has performed and recorded an album with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and performed with local chamber ensemble concert:nova. He recently gave the American premiere of Agen by British Composer, Adam Gorb and is currently working with the composer to arrange his Clarinet Concerto for small ensemble.
Corey has performed with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Montgomery Blue Ash Symphony, Frank Simon Band, and has performed concerti by Mozart, Weber, Rossini and Shaw. His primary teachers have included Burt Hara, Richie Hawley, Jonathan Gunn, and Jeremy Reynolds. Corey currently lives in Platteville, WI with his wife, Mady, and their two cats, Winks and Gus.
