Panty Pulping

Wednesday, October 9, 2013 - 10:00am to 5:00pm
Patio of the Markee Pioneer Student Center

Panty Pulping calls an end to sexual and domestic violence through the transformative process of hand papermaking.  Panty Pulping is an interactive workshop which invites everyone to transform their underwear into paper art in solidarity against sexual and domestic violence. The project uses unmentionables to address the unmentionable, inviting the public to snip and pulp undergarments in a statement against violence. In exposing the underwear, we symbolically expose hidden violence and transform it reflecting resiliency and empowerment. The Panty Pulping workshop is ongoing, so students, classes, pedestrians are invited to come for as little time as they can; or as long as they want to stay. The process from start to finish takes about an hour.
