Martin Luther: Civil Libertarian?

Martin Luther is best known as the ignitor of the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century. Emmy Award-nominated documentary producer Mike Trinklein will discuss other aspects of Luther's life, including Luther's advocacy for universal primary education. Trinklein is writer and producer of the recent PBS documentary “Martin Luther: The Idea that Changed the World”. The documentary was narrated by Hugh Bonneville of Downton Abbey fame. Rev Jeff Pedersen, Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville, will provide an introduction on Luther. The event, open to the public, is sponsored by a grant from the Center for the Study of Institutions and Innovation. Dr. Robert Snyder, Professor, Media Studies, is the recipient of the CSII grant and coordinator for this event.
