Commencement 2014

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville held its 192nd Commencement on Saturday, May 10, 2014. The College of Liberal Arts and Education was privileged to have two fascinating speakers.  Kyle Harding was chosen as the senior class speaker and began his talk discussing the importance of UW-Platteville in helping him explore his intellectual and emotional foundations (unfortunately, Kyle began feeling ill and could not continue his speech).  Dr. Phillip Anderson, Distinguished Alumnus and current Professor of Education at Queens College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, was the principal commencement speaker, offering his wisdom, humor, and educational experiences in inspiring ways to our graduates.  It is our privilege to be able to publish the texts of the speeches here.

— Dr. Elizabeth A. Throop, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Education
