Restore from Backup Request
Use this form to request the restoration of data that was stored on online storage such as workgroups (S:\) or user directories(J:\). If the data to be restored is on a local hard drive, promptly contact the ITS Help Desk to see if recovery is possible.
Please understand that submitting a request does not guarantee that the data can be successfully restored. The backup system is designed primarily as a hedge against system failures and is setup to maintain backup sets for approximately 1 month. Data that was corrupted, missing, or deleted more than one month ago most likely is not available on backup media and cannot be restored.
When submitted, this request is sent to the ITS ticketing system. An automatically generated message will be sent to your UW-Platteville e-mail account once your request has been received. If there is a need for immediate service, please follow up this online request with a phone call to the ITS Help Desk at 608.342.1400.
