IT Prioritizations

“IT Prioritization” is defined as the framework for decision rights and accountability to encourage desirable behavior in the use of IT. Given institutional growth and heightened project demand related to an evolving technology landscape, the university wants to ensure that IT resources are appropriately aligned with broader institutional strategy and delivered in an efficient and effective manner. These materials provide background for the updated IT Prioritization model at UW-Platteville, the responsibilities of which are to:

  • Align IT investment with the strategic mission, direction, and initiatives of UW-Platteville
  • Establish IT policies that support strategic, campus-wide IT priorities
  • Oversee the overall funding model for IT expenditures on campus
  • Define technical standards and ensure institution-wide infrastructure services align with constituent needs.
  • Establish best practices and tools for IT across campus

The Project Management Office of Excellence (PMCOE) oversees the IT Prioritization process.

Fall/Winter 2018 IT Prioritization Cycle has been suspeneded. See below for additional information.

As we evaluated the upcoming Fall/Winter 2018 ITP Cycle, we realized that the Collaborative Integration project with the two-year campuses would generate many ITP-type requests that will need to take priority.  For this reason, we have decided to suspend the request for ITP submissions for the Fall/Winter 2018 cycle.

Projects that have already been approved will proceed as planned.  If you have any questions, please contact Todd Carothers at carotherst@uwplatt.edu.
