Russell Hill honored by UW-Platteville’s Counseling Services

hill award

In October Russell Hill (MTS) became the first recipient of the Mental Health Matters award given by UW-Platteville’s Counseling Services.  The Mental Health Matters award recognizes individuals and departments on campus for their commitment to mental health awareness.  Russ helped Counseling Services create the videos for their Stomp Out Stigma campaign and filmed their 1100 flags display for Suicide Prevention Awareness Week in September.

According to Russell, being recognized is "indeed a great pleasure. Your mental health is just as important has your physical health. Remember that there is help. Remember that it is okay to ask for help. Take the step and get the assistance you need… My time in college was very hard for me. I sought help at University Counseling Services. I found them very trustworthy and great listeners. We ALL need help at some point. Reach out."

Congratulations, Russ!
