Meet Heather Faherty
Heather Faherty manages the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCOE). In addition to the daily operations of PMCOE, Heather is responsible for budget, hiring, performance, and collaborating with IT leadership. She distributes projects between the department’s project manager and business analyst as well as maintaining her own project assignments.
A Pioneer alum, Heather earned both her B.S. in Business and Marketing and M.S. in Project Management through UW-Platteville. Heather began her campus employment in 2008 as Catering Supervisor.
Heather was hired as one of PMCOE’s first project managers when the department was created in 2013. Some of her completed projects include new student/staff ID cards, print release stations in the labs, and the creation of the Pearson VUE testing center.
Heather likes managing projects because “it never gets boring. The projects are so different. I am constantly exposed to new areas and new people on campus.”
The people are what keep Heather at UW-Platteville, particularly the students. After six years supervising students in Catering, Heather decided to reconnect with the student population by teaching a section of Introduction to College Life for Fall 2016.
Off-campus Heather enjoys reading, running, and playing with her two dogs. An avid baker, she regularly shares her talents with the staff of fourth floor Karrmann, for they are grateful.
Please join us in welcoming Heather to her new role at UW-Platteville.
