Meet Erica DeBord
Erica DeBord welcomes challenge. "Working in IT, in general, brings challenge. ITS has very talented personnel, and I enjoy working as a team to conquer some of those challenges. There’s never a dull moment."
As Business Intelligence Developer, it is Erica’s responsibility to provide technical solutions to meet the reporting needs of campus and to maintain Extract Transform Load (ETL) jobs for the BI Data Warehouse as well as maintaining the Warehouse itself. She also serves as back-up to the Oracle Database Administrator and, when needed, the Business Intelligence System Administrator as well. It is just as complex as it sounds; she would be happy to answer your questions anytime!
As you might expect, Erica is not afraid to step outside her comfort zone. In 2013 Erica stepped in front of the camera to host then-OIT's new employee video. Last year she was elected President of Southwest Area Toastmasters, helping the professional development group to charter this winter.
Erica's off-work hours provide different kinds of challenges - the mental workout of the golf course (a fave!), the physicality of the volleyball court, and the thrill of action-adventure games on her PS4. Conversely, you may also find Erica chilling with family and friends at one of several favorite haunts in Galena, IL.
Finally, a life-long member of Raider Nation, Erica is proof-positive that when the going gets rough, the tough do not back away. She is cautiously optimistic her beloved team, the Oakland Raiders, is rising to the challenge to "Just Win Baby!"
Erica received her Associates in Applied Science Degree, Computer Analyst – Business Programming from Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta, IA in 2000. She has been employed at UW-Platteville since 2007.
