Meet Donna

Donna Anderson is the Director of International Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.  In this role, she provides leadership and support for the comprehensive internationalization of the university.  She works with the Provost and Vice Chancellor, Associate Vice Chancellor, Assistant Chancellors, Deans, faculty, and staff to create global opportunities; expand international components of teaching, research, and engagement activities; recruit and support international students and faculty; provide education abroad opportunities; and facilitate development of international partnerships important to the university's strategic plan.  She has administrative oversight for the International Programs Office which includes International Student and Scholar Services and Education Abroad.

Previously, she served as Director of Education Abroad at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (2003-2012) and Study Abroad Coordinator at Loras College (1999-2003).  In her 14 years of international education administrative experience, Donna has led a number of international initiatives.  She provided administrative support to Loras College's education abroad programs in Ireland, South Africa, Spain, and Ukraine; was responsible for the development and management of UW-Platteville's education abroad programs in Fiji, China, and Australia; and has collaborated with numerous faculty at both institutions in the development of short-term programs and exchanges. 

Donna earned her B.A. degree, cum laude, in German and Sociology from Luther College and her M.A. degree in Education from Loras College.  Donna’s experience with international education began as an undergraduate participating on a short-term faculty-led program to Germany and Austria followed by a junior-year abroad studying at the Universität Erlangen.  She has studied, worked, volunteered, or traveled in more than 30 countries worldwide.

Meet Liz

Liz Kruse began working at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville as the International Student and Scholar Advisor in October of 2011 and became the Assistant Director of International Programs in December 2014. Liz earned her Bachelor’s degrees, maxima cum laude, in English Literature, Spanish, and International Studies at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, and a Master’s degree in Comparative and International Development Education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Liz’s semester-long study abroad experience in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, as an undergraduate, and her year on a Fulbright grant living and teaching English in Madrid, Spain, prompted her to pursue a career in International Education. As the Assistant Director of International Programs, Liz serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO), supervises the Education Abroad and International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Office staff, provides immigration advising for international students and scholars on F-1 and J-1 visas, oversees cross-cultural programming, serves as a cultural liaison and resource for international students and scholars and the university community, and partners with other offices on campus to foster an environment that is responsive to the needs of the university's international population. Liz’s hobbies include running, reading, playing piano and saxophone, traveling, learning new languages, and spending time with her husband, two young sons, and friends and family. Liz serves as the ISSS Regulations Representative for the Wisconsin Association of International Educators (WAIE) and is an active NAFSA: Association of International Educators member.

Nina Elskamp

Meet Nina

Nina Elskamp joined the International Programs Office in January of 2010 as Office Manager and in 2015 also took on the additional role of Incoming Exchange Coordinator. Nina brings to the office her experience at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville both as an employee since October of 2004 and as a student. She is a 1999 graduate of UW-Platteville and holds a degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Agribusiness.  As Incoming Exchange Coordinator, Nina serves as primary coordinator/facilitator for incoming international exchange students enrolled at UW-Platteville for a year or a semester. This includes advising on immigration regulations, visas, housing, meal plans, course changes/registrations, transportation, and general campus information. In her free time, Nina enjoys horseback riding, spending time with friends and family, and most importantly, spending time with her daughter.

Meet Jane

Jane Auge began working at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville as the International Student and Scholar Services graduate assistant and an International Club Advisor in July of 2016 and has been serving as the International Student Success Advisor since April 2017. In May of 2016 she graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s in Communication. During her undergraduate years Jane participated in several study abroad trips, including a semester abroad in London and a Music Department study tour to South Africa. It was through these experiences and her coursework in Intercultural Communication that Jane realized her passion for International Education. Jane graduated with her Masters in Student Affairs Administration through UW-LaCrosse in May 2018. In her free time, Jane enjoys staying active, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
