Partnering for our future
At UW-Platteville, we believe that truly preparing students for the workforce is a responsibility shared by our university and business and industry. We seek to build mutually-beneficial, strategic, long-term relationships with industry. Whether it is matching our talented students and graduates with internships and employment, pairing our students and expert faculty with industry to conduct research, or providing training to meet the workforce’s needs, UW-Platteville is proud to play a role in supporting economic growth and vitality in Southwest Wisconsin—and beyond.
Our Corporate Relations department serves as the central point of coordination for relationships with business partners, developing new opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Programs such as our engineering senior design projects pave the way for students to engage with businesses in a real way. In these industry-sponsored projects, students are partnered with a company and tasked with an assignment, and—with guidance from the company and UW-Platteville professors—they offer real solutions.
The Career and Professional Development Office assists students in all things related to exploring careers and finding a job, from résumé help and mock interviewing to professional networking events with employers, and more. Our career fair—held in the fall and spring—continues to grow, reaching a record number recently of more than 360 employers vying for UW-Platteville’s talented students.
Our dedication to strengthening our region’s economic development extends to the current workforce. UW-Platteville’s Corporate Training Center can help you engage your employees and drive business results with a variety of training options including online, traditional classroom, and hybrid training. Customized training, in coordination with our expert faculty, is available.
