What are you most excited about starting or experiencing at UW-Platteville?
I am excited to meet new people and having the opportunity to get involved with UW-Platteville’s various programs and activities. I am also looking forward to broadening my knowledge as a student there. I am excited to be on the track and field team as well. Being on the team will allow me to be able to experience how sports work in a college atmosphere. I think I will enjoy that especially because I appreciated sports so much in high school. I look forward to my experiences at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
What interests and/or hobbies do you have?
To start, I am a person who likes to be involved with a lot of different activities; like helping organizing prom and helping out our Lena Athletic Club by selling candy at home basketball and football games. I am also a very busy person while in sports. I participate in volleyball, track and field, and in the winter season I play on a club volleyball team, Green Bay Power. I love the thrill of always being busy with sports because I believe it pushes me to work hard and get my school-work done so I am able to spend my time and determination with sports. They play a big role in my life in general, as well. They teach me great leadership skills, and how to demonstrate positive behavior and to be a role model for the younger players and teammates.
Megan's Thank You Note
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the donors and the UW-Platteville Scholarship Committee for honoring me as one of its 2013 scholarship recipients. It is especially meaningful because it recognizes not only my high school successes but also it represents my future. As I begin college this fall at UW-Platteville, I will enroll as a criminal justice major with a forensic investigation minor. I am excited for what the future has in store for me and I can’t wait to begin my journey to help make a difference. Today, I offer my thanks for this scholarship.
