Civil and Environmental engineering

The following Civil and Environmental Engineering Scholarships are available to students with majors or minors in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.  A student must have completed 1 semester on campus, be a full-time student and pursuing a degree on campus.  To apply for the scholarships below, complete the Continuing Student on-line application, which is due March 1st.
  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
    • Must be an ASCE member, member of ASCE UW-Platteville Chapter for 2 consecutive semesters and has one or more years of school remaining.
  • Ayres Associates
    • Must have a major in Civil Engineering.
  • Cecil Bailie
    • Mining construction emphasis.
  • Delta 3 Engineering, INC.
    • Must be a civil or environmental engineering major, enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior, GPA of at least 3.0 and a resident of Wisconsin.
  • Duffy Engineering
    • Full time junior or sophomore structural engineering major who shows evidence of accepting more than his/her "fair share" for any given project.
  • E.E. Clarke Surveying Scholarship
    • Must be a Civil Engineering major and completed his/her junior year.
  • Faherty, Inc.
    • Resident of Southwest Wisconsin, financial need.
  • Gauthier & Sons' Construction
    • Soph/Jun/Senior, Civil Engineering Major at time of selection, 2.75+ GPA financial need is not a factor.
  • George Kettler Memorial in Civil Engineering
    • Any student majoring in Civil Engineering. Preference given to students with financial need.
  • G.H. Anderson Structural Engineering Scholarship
    • Junior/senior in Civil/Environmental Engineering major with emphasis in Structural Engineering having a minimum GPA of 2.7 and demonstrated interest in Structures through under graduate course work or related work experience. Consideration will be given for related extra-curricular activities and financial need. Applicants shall be a citizen of the USA.
  • Gordon E. Wegwart, P.E. Civil/Environmental ENG.
    • Working towards degree in civil or environmental Engineering program. Junior student. Have attained a 3.5 GPA. Involved in outdoor activities (fishing, golfing, and boating).
  • Huff Family Foundation Scholarship
    • Majoring in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Mining. Preference given in location sequence: first, Lancaster High School graduate, second, Grant County resident and third, state of Wisconsin resident. Grade level determined by selection committee.
  • J.P. Cullen
    • Recipient must be full-time, on-campus student with a minimum of 59 credits majoring in civil engineering with an interest in construction. Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA to receive and reapply for scholarship. Consider leadership, financial need. Scholarship is applied to tuition and fees.
  • John L. Curnow Memorial
    • Graduate of an accredited high school in southwest Wisconsin (area bounded by I-90, the Mississippi River and the Wisconsin/Illinois state line). Sophomore, junior or returning senior in engineering. An above average academic record with minimum GPA of 2.75 (4.0 scale).Demonstrated financial need (FAFSA filed).
  • Kevin Kraemer Family Scholarship
    • Student must be majoring in Civil Engineering, earned at least 60 credits and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Lisa Karberg-Machotka Memorial
    • Female Civil Engineering student. Must be a sophomore or junior year with at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Mark Meyers Civil and Environmental Engineering Scholarship
    • A sophomore or junior standing with a declared major in Civil or Environmental Engineering.  Maintains a good GPA and is active in ASCE.
  • Matthew T. Rynish Memorial Scholarship
    • Enrolled in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year as a civil engineering major. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference given to applicants who have excelled in the American Society of Civil Engineering. 
  • McCullough-Wetzel
    • Any Civil Engineering Major, must have GPA of 3.0 or better, completed his/her junior year. Must demonstrate leadership and is involved in extra curricular activities.
  • Mining Development Scholarship
    • Mining construction emphasis.
  • O.E. and Agnes Dewitt Memorial
    • Students in Mining Engineering Programs.
  • Olson/Fedak Civil Engineering Scholarship
    • Majoring in Civil/Environmental Engineering, minimum of 3.0 GPA and must be active in extracurricular activities and/or community involvement. Preference
      given to students who demonstrate involvement in water resources through past work (research, internships, etc) and/or plans to pursue a career in water 
      resources field. 
  • Paul A. Keehn Memorial
    • 30+ credit hours. Application shall include a narrative regarding the applicant's motivation to pursue a civil engineering career. Financial need and academic achievement will be considered secondary.
  • The Ralph Family Scholarship
    • Must be in good academic standing, GPA of 3.25 or better, completed junior year at UWP, majoring in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering and has demonstrated leadership and is involved in extracurricular activities.
  • Robert Kliebenstein Memorial
    • Mining construction emphasis, character.
  • Roger R. Walton Civi Engineering Scholarship
    • Must be a sophomore pursing Civil Engineering.  Must have GPA between 2.25 and 2.9.  If none, than any student with closest GPA will be considered.  Preference to students who show strong commitment to completing a degree despite some academic challenges that may occur.
  • Speedway Sand & Gravel Scholarship
    • Must major in civil engineering, GPA of 2.75, must exhibit high quality work ethic, demonstrate financial need and life long resident of Wisconsin.
  • Strand Associates
    • Recipient shall be in his/her sophomore, junior, or senior year as a Civil or Environmental Engineering major. Applicants shall have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference given to applicants who are involved in extra-curricular activities. Financial need is also a factor.
  • Ted & Sande Richards
    • Must be a junior in Civil Engineering. Must exemplify best UW-Platteville tradition of excellence in education and consideration in extracurricular activities.
  • Teresa A. Kirkeeng-Kincaid Memorial Scholarship for Women in Civil Engineering & Environmental Engineering
    • Female student from Wisconsin with at least a sophomore standing. Preference given to students involved in the UWP chapter of the America Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Society of Women in Engineers (SWE). Must have a current GPA of 2.8 or higher. Must have a FAFSA on file for next academic year.
  • Thomas Walther
    • Student must be pursing a degree in Civil Engineering. Recipient must have a strong work ethic and be in good academic standing. Preference shall be given to a ASCE Student Chapter Member.
  • Tom Lee Memorial
    • Junior or senior, interest in sanitation or environment.
  • Wang Civil and Environmental Engineering Scholarship
    • Must major in Civil or Environmental Engineering, have a 3.0 GPA or better, completed junior year and demonstrated leadership and is involved in extracurricular activities.
  • William M. Fitzgerald Memorial
    • Junior or senior, merit.
  • WI Concrete Paving Association
    • Emphasis/Interest in highway materials and pavements.
  • Wisconsin D.O.T. Scholarship
    • Junior/senior major in Civil/Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering Highways and/or Structures , GPA of at least 2.5 and have demonstrated interest in Transportation Engineering through course work and/or employment. Must be a Wisconsin resident and demonstrate a financial need.
