(Past) Formula SAE Weekly Meeting

Come join the Formula SAE (FSAE) weekly meeting to hear about the Formula teams progress and upcoming activities.

Each year, UW - Platteville's FSAE team designs, builds, and competes with a formula-style racecar. Our vehicles are powered by a motorcycle Internal Combustion Engine, and you can think of them like a 1/3 scale Formula 1 car or Indycar. At our competition at Michigan Internation Speedway in June, we will compete in static and dynamic events with hundreds of other teams from universities around the globe. We justify our engineering decisions in design, cost, and business events, and we race our vehicle in acceleration, skidpad, autocross, and endurance events.

Members of the FSAE team are able to apply what they learn in the classroom and develop valuable skills like CAD, machining, and programming. Many of our upperclassmen members and alumni agree that their FSAE experience led to their engineering positions at companies like Caterpillar, John Deere, Milwaukee, Mercury Marine, GM, Ford, and many more.

Not an engineer? Great! We have many opportunities for students with business and financial interests as well.

Meet us in Busby 127 or on Teams to see what we're all about!
