UiS Cocurricular Activities
Students studying abroad at the University of Stavanger (UiS) have a wide range of opportunities available to them to enhance their experience outside the classroom. Opportunities include:
EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES
The UW-Platteville Exchange program does not include organized excursions and activities, but students can organize independent travel on weekends and over university breaks. Norway places an emphasis on cultural art and on music, and Stavanger is no exception. As an international city and tourist stop, Stavanger also offers several modern shopping centers, as well as quaint outdoor markets. Students looking for the perfect souvenir will find it in Old Stavanger.

The Student House
In the autumn of 2011, the Student House was built at the center of the UiS campus. Now the building is used as the basis of students' activities on campus. Different student organizations are located here, as well as the SiS Café and the student driven pub Tappetårnet. The student board, the student organization StOr, and the student chaplain also have offices in the Student House. The Student House is the ideal base for student activities and a good place to meet friends.
