National Scholarships

Agricultural Cross-Cultural Experience Program Scholarship

The objective of the Agricultural Cross-Cultrual Experience Program Scholarship is to emphasize summer learning and working experience for an undergraduate student to learn more about agricultural sciences and agricultural education through international agricultural programs. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. The program aims to encourage students to choose non-traditional study abroad destinations and to support students who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad, including but not limited to, students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students with diverse ethnic backgrounds, and students with disabilities. Boren Scholarship

Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.  Learn more and apply here: borenawards.org/.

Bridging Scholarship for Study Abroad in Japan

The Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Funding from private foundations and major U.S. corporations, through donations to the nonprofit US-Japan Bridging Foundation, makes it possible to award about 100 scholarships each year to assist students with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.  Learn more and apply here: aatj.org/studyabroad/scholarships.html.

BUTEX North American Scholarship

Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad in the UK for either a semester or for a whole academic year.  Learn more and apply here: butex.ac.uk/.
 

Corinne Jeannine Schillings Study Abroad Scholarship

The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Study Abroad Scholarship provides financial assistance to young women who are pursuing undergraduate college degrees in the study of languages, or who are studying in a foreign country as enrichment for their undergraduate college program. Chinese Government Scholarship 2016 - 2017

This scholarship is sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and supports undergraduate students for 4 to 7 years, and Master’s students for no more than 3 years.
To be eligible, applicants must be a:
 - citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health or
 - bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs or

How to apply:
1. Go to http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/noticeen.html and register an account 
2. Complete the online application procedure at CSC Online Application System for International Students, submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship and print a hard copy.
3. Submit all your application documents (hard copy) to the Education Abroad Office before the deadline. The Education Abroad Office will then forward the application to the host institution.

DiversityAbroad.com Scholarships are open to any full-time undergraduate student at a university or community college based in the Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom or the United States. Dr. Natalia Gómez Passport Scholarship

The Dr. Natalia Gómez Passport Fund was established to empower persons with disabilities to pursue their dreams to study, work, intern, travel, volunteer, and expand their horizons abroad. Foundation for Global Scholars Scholarships

Foundation for Global Scholars awards scholarships to US citizens participating in an approved academic program abroad during summer, fall or spring semester. German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarships

DAAD offers a wide range of funding opportunities for individuals and institutions in higher education.  Their primary goal is to facilitate transatlantic mobility to Germany for US and Canadian scholars, and funding is awarded on a competitive basis, considering the academic merit of the individual, the feasibility and quality of the proposal, and the impact of the applicant and application as a whole.  Learn more and apply here: daad.org/undergrad.

Great Lakes STEM Scholarships

For students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) disciplines $2,500 scholarships available under the new Great Lakes National Scholarship Program Up to 750 scholarships totaling $1.875 million will be awarded to new and continuing students who qualify.

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship

As a leading student services organization in Japan, JASSO comprehensively administers scholarship loan programs, support programs for international students, and student support programs. Phi Kappa Phi International Scholars Award

Turkish Coalition of American (TCA) Scholarships

The Turkish Coalition of American (TCA) awards up to 100 scholarships per year for African American, Hispanic American and Native American students. SAIIE Academic Excellence Scholarship

The goal of the Spanish-American Institute of International Education (SAIIE) Academic Scholarship to make studying abroad and participating on the SAIIE study abroad program more financially attainable for students from all universities and colleges. This scholarship is worth $1,000.

SAIIE UW-River Falls Scholarship

UW-River Falls Fall and Spring 2017 semester students participating on our Seville, Spain program at SAIIE have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship worth $1,000!

SAIIE will offer a total of 10 scholarships throughout the 2017 year (5 each term). To apply for this scholarship, students must be a full-time degree-seeking UW-River Falls student in the semesters before and after having taken part in the SAIIE program.

USP Biology Scholarship

NOTE: If you are receiving the UW-Platteville International Study Scholarship for a Winterim program, you will not receive the funds until Spring semester classes start in late January due to federal regulations.
