High school students may earn college credit by taking an online course through Dual Enrollment Academy, taught by UW-Platteville instructors. Classes are offered synchronously and align with the university calendar. 


Benefits of taking dual enrollment courses:

  • Experience taking college course work
  • Earn credits that transfer to most universities


Courses in Dual Enrollment Academy cost $175 per credit.


To be eligible to participate in Dual Enrollment Academy, you must be be a Wisconsin high school or homeschooled student and meet the following:

  • Successful completion of one year of geometry with a grade of “C” or better (or have proof of having it completed prior to registering for Dual Enrollment Academy courses)
  • Meet one of the following:
    • Minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale OR
    • ACT composite score of 22 or SAT of 1110 (PSAT scores may be used in lieu of ACT or SAT if scores have not yet been received) OR
    • Class rank of:
      • Seniors: Top 50% of their class
      • Juniors/Sophomores: Top 10% of their class


Please note the following deadlines to apply for Dual Enrollment Academy. These are firm deadlines; late applications will not be accepted.

  • June 15: Fall term
  • December 15: Spring term

Important Notes

UW-Platteville reserves the right to cancel any course due to low enrollment, conditions beyond reasonable control, including, but not limited to low enrollment, disaster, inclement weather, health emergency, unavailability of supplies, or any other circumstance.

Dual Enrollment Academy students must abide by all regulations, policies, and procedures of the university as outlined in the university catalog, semester timetable, and official university documents. These include, but are not limited to, the university drop, withdrawal, tuition refund, grading, and attendance policies. In addition, all students must comply with the rules set forth by instructors. Courses taken at UW-Platteville become a part of the student's permanent university record and may affect subsequent admission eligibility to postsecondary institutions.
