Not having accessible lactation rooms in the workplace or public places poses a real problem for parents working to balance school and careers with having a baby. Last semester the Patricia A. Doyle Center for Gender and Sexuality opened the first Lactation Room on campus.
More than just providing a space to meet the physical needs of pumping parents, providing an accessible lactation room for students and staff on campus sends an important message: we at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and the Doyle Center support you and your family.
Our Lactation Station is located in 136 Warner Hall. We provide a clean, quiet, and private place for mothers to pump, recharge, and find balance. Our space includes a small refrigerator, a comfortable couch, and a changing table.
