Participation Policy Reminder

Due to increased federal regulations, UW-Platteville is required to verify that all enrolled students are participating in courses prior to the participation deadline of each semester. All students will be required to demonstrate participation in class for each of their courses. Participation is defined by completing an academic activity such as the submission of assignments, exams, or documented discussions about academic matters. You may review the Participation Policy for more details.  

To comply with federal regulations, instructors will monitor student participation. On the spring 2016 participation deadline, February 1, instructors will be required to complete an attendance roster and mark students as attended or not attended. Students who have not completed an academic activity will be marked as not attended and administratively dropped from any course where participation was not demonstrated.

There are financial consequences if you are dropped.  If you use financial aid, you may lose financial aid eligibility for the semester.  Any financial aid funds disbursed to your student account or refunded to you must be returned by the University to the U.S. Department of Education. You will be responsible for the balance due on your account as a result of this action.  For students not using financial aid, you may be eligible for a refund.
