New Anatomy and Physiology course available
Starting with the spring 2016 semester, UW-Platteville Online will offer Biology 2340 – Essentials of Anatomy and Physiology. The undergraduate course was co-developed by instructors Nadia Sifri and John Peterson.
The course will serve as a basic introduction to the complex interdependence of structure and function of the human body and will include a lab component. The inclusion of the lab activities makes this course unique from many other online course offerings and will enable students to earn credits towards the natural science requirement of their undergraduate degree program. This online course is the first of its kind at UW-Platteville and while they knew it would be a challenge, Sifri and Peterson were excited to get started.
“I saw the benefit of developing an online class that would meet the high standards we have set for ourselves and the students within the biology department,” Sifri said. “Our course development designer David Leo played a significant role in getting this class where it is on the technology side. From the content side, John and I have two different teaching styles which allowed us to pull from many different educational strategies to create a class that students will get the most impact from. We are very excited about rolling this class out in spring 2016.”
Students interested in registering for this undergraduate course should contact their advisor.
