DLC adds two new scholarship opportunities for distance students
The UW-Platteville Distance Learning Center is adding two new scholarship offerings this fall for assistance with spring 2017 semester costs. The application deadlines for both scholarships is November 1, and you are encouraged to apply now.
- The John Deere Woman in Engineering Scholarship has been established through a donation from John Deere, which has been a longstanding employer of UW-Platteville alumni. This scholarship recognizes the need for diversity in engineering and supports the education of a deserving female engineering student. The award is $2,000 and the recipient must be a degree-seeking female student accepted and enrolled in UW-Platteville’s Master’s Degree in Engineering program.
- The Herb Kohl Charities Scholarship recognizes the many sacrifices that distance learners make to successfully juggle education, career, and family. The award is $250 and applications are open to any degree seeking student who has successfully completed at least one class toward their degree and has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
The DLC aims to support our students both inside the classroom and out. This includes providing you with information on scholarship opportunities that can help pay for your education. These scholarships require an application form, résumé, and essay, along with other eligibility requirements.
