New in March 2017, this is a food pantry for UW-Platteville students on campus who may not have food readily accessible.
Non-perishable items accepted. Our most preferred items are:
- Canned fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood
- Dried fruits, vegetables, beans, peas and lentils
- Whole wheat pasta and brown rice
- Whole grain cereal and oats
- Peanut butter
Hunger and food insecurity are a growing problem on college campuses. A December 2016 report indicates that 22% of college students surveyed have the lowest levels of food insecurity and 48% of college students experienced food insecurity in the past 30 days (CNN, 2016 & Hunger on Campus, 2016).
