Welcome to Pioneer Players

Meeting new people and having fun while learning about theatre is a huge part of being a member of Pioneer Players at University of Wisconsin-Platteville. If you participate in theatre productions, you're automatically a member.

Pioneer Players holds monthly meetings in the Center for the Arts Theatre. We discuss upcoming events/productions, workshops, and upcoming social events, such as the Winterganza and Drama Proma. We also discuss plans for theatre trips to the American Players Theatre, Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago.

While the Winterganza and Drama Proma are our two major social events, we also host pot luck suppers, scavenger hunts, and movie nights throughout the year.

Get Involved

Attend Meetings

It's easy. Get out of your dorm room for an hour and come chill with the plucky theatre folk.

Auditions are held in September, December, and April. You're encouraged to prepare monologues and participate in cold script readings. If you are auditioning for a musical, prepare a song. New faces are always encouraged to audition.

Be on the lookout for audition posters around campus, or join Pioneer Players on PioneerLink or on Facebook to get up-to-date audition information. You can also contact any of the theatre program faculty and staff for details.

Work in the Theatre Shops

Is the stage not your thing? We can point you in the right direction. Help build sets, costumes, and props. We're always looking for new faces and ideas. You can get involved through the stagecraft class, or you can volunteer during shop hours from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Assistant Direction and Stage Management

Work closely with the directors, actors, and production teams.

Become a "Techie"

Every show needs a running crew, so come and work behind the scenes.
