University of Wisconsin-Platteville recognizes that ethical conduct is everyone’s responsibility. There are several ways to make a report of suspected or actual misconduct. Whichever method you choose, what is most important is that you speak up when you see wrongdoing or have concerns that someone has violated the law or UW-Platteville policy.

Student complaint processes are outlined by the Dean of Students and Office of Professional Program Support webpages.

To report suspected compliance violations of any kind, use the following methods:

  • Discuss your concerns with your supervisor or leader responsible for your area.
  • Report to the operational or compliance area owner. Consider contacting the individual(s) responsible for specific areas of compliance as identified in the compliance matrix.
  • Use the anonymous University of Wisconsin System fraud and abuse reporting hotline. The University of Wisconsin System has established an independent hotline administered by The Network to provide you with a way to report activities that may involve waste, fraud, or abuse. You may file a report on this website or by dialing (855) 827-4950. Any complaints will be forwarded to the appropriate university officials who will address the allegations in accordance with current policies and procedures.

Can I make an anonymous report?
Yes. It is your choice to state your name or remain anonymous.

Am I protected from retaliation?
University of Wisconsin System policy prohibits the taking of retaliatory action against anyone for reporting or inquiring about potential breaches of University policy or for seeking guidance on how to handle suspected breaches.

Is it possible that a person named in the report could be the person assigned to investigate it?
No. All reports are independently investigated.
