Welcome! The Confucius Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville was established in partnership with South-Central University for Nationalities in Wuhan, China, and through a formal agreement with the Chinese International Education Foundation, Beijing, China.

It is an honor for us to have these partnerships that give our Confucius Institute a unique role in sharing information about China's 56 ethnic communities—and their rich cultures.

Confucius Institute at UW-Platteville

The Confucius Institute, established in 2008, is part of an international network of more than 1,100 Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms dedicated to enhancing the understanding of the Chinese language and culture around the world. It is the only Confucius Institute in Wisconsin. We are also the only Confucius Institute in a partnership with one of the six Universities for Nationalities in China, who are under the administration of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
